“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
Psalm 119:105 · KJVA lamp in ancient times did not light up a whole road. It shone just far enough for the next few steps. The psalmist compares God's word to that kind of light — not a floodlight that reveals every turn ahead, but a steady glow that shows where to place our feet now.
We often want to see the entire path before we move. We ask for certainty about the future when what we are given is guidance for the present. Reading Scripture regularly is less about collecting answers and more about walking with the One who knows the way.
Take a few verses today and read them slowly. Ask what they say about God, what they say about you, and what one step of obedience they invite. Then take that step, trusting that the light will be there for the next one.

Lord, let Your word be a lamp to my feet. Give me the courage to take the next step You show me. Amen.
