Matthew 6:9–13 (KJV)

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

For the start of the day

Morning Prayer

Lord, thank You for this new morning and for mercies that are new today. Guide my thoughts, my words and my work. Give me patience with others and courage for what lies ahead. Let me walk in Your light and be a blessing to someone today. Amen.

For the end of the day

Evening Prayer

Faithful God, thank You for staying with me through this day. Forgive what I did wrong and heal what was hurt. I place into Your hands the people I love and the worries I carry. Give me restful sleep and wake me with hope. Amen.

For the people we love

Prayer for Family

Lord, bless my family. Keep us in Your care, strengthen the bonds between us and teach us to forgive one another. Where there is illness, bring healing; where there is distance, bring peace. May our home be a place where Your love is known. Amen.

A note

Prayer is a conversation

There are no perfect words. Pray honestly, briefly if needed, and return often. If you are going through a very difficult time, please also seek support from people you trust, a local faith community or qualified professionals.

“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
James 5:16
